ABSTRACT

In times of pandemic and social distancing, the risks tied to leaving home to make purchases can cause consumers to seek online means to perform such activities. In this sense, the study aims to analyze the influence of COVID-19 on online shopping behavior. For this, we apply a survey with 1052 Brazilian online consumers, with data analyzed via PLS-SEM. As main results, we observed that the perceived risk of being infected with COVID-19 when buying in person positively impacted the perceived usefulness and ease of purchase. However, it had no statistical influence on online shopping intent;perceived usefulness is positively related to online purchase intent;and perceived ease of investment has a significant positive association with perceived usefulness and online purchase intent. Online purchase intent positively affects online shopping. The research contributes to the literature by offering empirical results using TAM and COVID-19 as an external model variable.

ABSTRACT

This article debates the relation between the medical records confidentiality, right to privacy, and the duty / right to information in times of pandemic, from the perspective of the requisition Power of public authorities, using the weighing between the principles, present in Alexy's Collision Theory, whose removal would be given by authorization of the patient, legal duty or for just cause, a open concept to bring doubt whether these requests, including those not preceded by previous jurisdiction, would or would not have the prerogative of access to information in medical records. This is a theoretical contribution, with a multidisciplinary approach, under the application of the dialectical method. As a result, it was observed that there is an urgency and prevalence of the duty of information in front of the individual right to privacy, since medical secrecy does not overlap with life and health, taking into account the reality of COVID-19 and the information required to its study and combat. The just cause is based on a true state of need, and there is no mention of a judicial reserve. Its scope would be limited, however, to the custodian duty of the requesting authority: confidentiality as to the holder of the information.

ABSTRACT

In view of the pandemic scenario of the new coronavirus, SARS-CoV2, educational units invested in remote education by adapting and reinventing the teaching-learning process amid uncertainties and limitations of different orders. The present study aimed to evaluate the use of some alternative methodologies such as Google forms, Conceptual map, Kahoot and Short film. It was observed that the Google forms form as well as the Short film had an acceptance of 90% of the students, 60% stated that the concept map improved the understanding of the content energy metabolism and 90,9% scored above the average 7 during the Kahoot. Therefore, the implementation of alternative methodologies as an evaluation method in order to stimulate student protagonism during remote teaching proved to be positive, allowing undergraduates to exercise autonomy in the elaboration and execution of activities in the construction of their knowledge and that of other colleagues, thus providing the experience teaching practice during graduation.

ABSTRACT

The Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) pandemic has complicated, due to measures of social isolation, the development of scientific research in several locations around the world. How to continue producing high quality studies? Bibliographic searches may be the answer. The narrative review is simpler, structurally, while the systematic review is the most complex, which the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyzes (PRISMA) should be used for its preparation. The integrative review, in other hand, is one that presents more possibilities for analysis and addition of information, since it allows the use of both quantitative and/or qualitative data. Thus, the literature reviews are presented as important vehicles of information and their preparation and publication are valid and, above all, necessary in pandemic times.

ABSTRACT

Anxiety at pathological levels has grown a lot around the world, so verifying its correlation with human resilience (which is an innate personality trait) during the quarantine due to the covid-19 pandemic was the target of this study. For this, a Human Resilience scale and an Anxiety scale (STAI) were used. For methodological purposes, this research has a descriptive quantitative approach of the Survey type. This research was carried out in the state of Rio Grande do Norte with individuals in quarantine for at least 8 days. Regarding data collection, the investigation took place in a virtual way, through the Google Docs. This data was analyzed using SPSS (R) software, Version 20 for Windows (R). The tests performed consisted of Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) and Multiple Linear Regression. The results show that the level of human resilience did not imply a lower level of anxiety in individuals during the COVID-19 pandemic, so that the findings are in opposition to those existing in the literature. In conclusion, the COVID-19 pandemic and the resulting events were able to raise high levels of anxiety in even the most resilient individuals.

ABSTRACT

Background At the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic in spring 2020, governments around the world issued curfews and other stay at home orders ('lockdown') to limit the spread of the SARS-CoV19 virus. This may have forced people to decrease their physical activity. Physical inactivity as well as social stress is known to be especially deleterious for heart failure (HF) patients. The BIO;STREAM.HF study enrolled such HF patients into a prospective registry with Home Monitoring. Purpose: We aimed to evaluate the impact of the lockdown during the first Covid-19 pandemic wave on physical activity and arrhythmia burden of heart failure patients. Methods: We analysed daily transmitted data of patients enrolled into a large international registry (BIO;STREAM.HF) being implanted with a cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT) devices. Patients with NYHA ≥ II and LVEF ≤ 40% before CRT implantation were selected. Intra-individual weekly mean and median values were calculated for the following daily transmitted parameters: physical activity (measured as % of the day during which the patient moves), atrial arrhythmia burden, mean heart rate (at rest), PP variability, PVC burden, and rate of biventricular pacing. Values were calculated for 12 weeks before and 12 weeks after the country-specific effective date of most rigorous restrictions in spring 2020 to visualize the general trend of parameter changes. Moreover, values for intra-individual changes between three 28-days periods (before, during, and after the lockdown) were calculated. Results: Of 444 patients, 76% were male. They had a mean age of 69 ± 10 years and LVEF of 28.2 ± 6.7%. HF was of ischemic etiology in 42% of cases and they were in NYHA class II (47.5%), III (50.0%) or IV (2.5%). On average, patients were active for 9% of the day (2 h 10 min). The physical activity decreased by approx. 10% with the onset of the lockdown (figure 1) and recovered within the following eight weeks. Comparison of the 28-days periods before, during and after the lockdown showed a statistically significant intra-individual decrease in physical activity (mean decrease 9 min per day) during the lockdown compared to pre- and post-lockdown values and a trend toward reduced mean heart rates. In parallel, a significant increase in device detected atrial arrhythmia burden (mean increase 17 min per day) was observed. All other parameters did not change significantly. Conclusion Our results show that patients reduced their physical activity during the Covid-19 related lockdown in spring 2020. This was associated with an increase in atrial arrhythmia burden and a reduction of the mean heart rate. Prognostic implications of these results will further be analysed.

ABSTRACT

This research aims to analyze the degree of resilience of individual microentrepreneurs who work in the beauty industry in a city in Rio Grande do Norte during the COVID-19 pandemic. For methodological purposes, this study has a descriptive character of a quantitative nature. Virtual interviews were conducted through the WhatsApp app, in compliance with the recommendation of social isolation (WHO, 2020), with ten micro-entrepreneurs in the beauty industry in the city of Mossoro-RN. To understand the reports obtained, we used the technique of Analysis of Nuclei of Sense (ANS), adapted by Mendes (2007). As for the results of the data, new categories emerged associated with the dimensions of human resilience proposed by Perim et al. (2015). Based on the reports presented, in general, the interviewees showed low levels of human resilience. Thus, the study has managerial relevance when considering and analyzing this construct as a personality trait necessary to face moments of crisis and organizational competitiveness. In addition, there is the academic relevance of the research, since there were no studies on resilience of micro-entrepreneurs in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, making this a research gap.

ABSTRACT

This reflection study is exploratory and descriptive. As a objective, we sought to verify elements that make it possible to assess the credibility of the information available on the Web. To meet the proposed objective, a literature review was applied in order to identify publications that deal with the topics: fake news, Post-truth, Infodemia, Misinformation, Checking and Credibility of information. It is concluded that the fact-checking method was considered valid in the content accreditation, since it starts from checking the entire informational context, going through validation steps, which allows the transparency of the method and the sources checked. Due to a large amount of information available on the internet, the practice of content checking has become necessary for the verification and certification of publications, relevant to the public interest, combating fake news and the movement of infodemia, and disinformation in today's society. © 2020 Escuela Interamericana de Bibliotecologia. ABSTRACT

Since December 2019, the world has been fighting the SARS-CoV2 virus (severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2). Little is known about vaccines and forms of treatment at this point. However, the importance of preventing transmission is very clear, and one of the main measures is social isolation. Major sports tournaments, including soccer championships, have been suspended or cancelled due to COVID-19, on the grounds of our understanding of the importance of social isolation. Accordingly, large clubs have handed over their stadiums for the construction of field hospitals, and have encouraged health care by providing guidance on hygiene and social distancing. The involvement of soccer in the prevention of this pandemic is due to the fact that its managers understand the importance of this sport in the process, and its influence on fans and players. Over the years, soccer has incorporated scientific and technological knowledge into the game, which has frequently served as a role model for other types of sport and for the population. Therefore, in these extreme times of the COVID-19 pandemic, there is no reason to believe it would be any different, and standpoints taken by soccer teams serve as an example and reiterate their role in the educational commitment to society and respect for government authorities. As a result, a protocol was drawn up for the resumption of training, in which all recommendations to be followed by players, managers/backroom staff and employees are in accordance with official health agencies of the national and international government. In other words, the resumption of training is subject to the authorization of government authorities. Level of evidence III;Descriptive study. © 2020, Redprint Editora Ltda. All rights reserved.
